PROGRAMMING

PROGRAMMING AND RESIDENCIES

Each residency is designed to fit the specific needs of a school. If you would like more detailed information about a specific residency and further outlines, examples can be furnished upon request.

  • DAY PROGRAMS 
CONFLICT-RESOLUTION, ANTI-BULLYING and VIOLENCE PREVENTION
Teaching artists will work with classes to help the classroom teacher promote positive class behavior  and learn to handle Conflict Resolution, Violence Prevention, Anti-Bullying (Cyberbullying) through scene work and theater games. Residencies are tailored for school needs. 
  • AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS 
Drama techniques are used to help build social and emotional skills through scene work and theater games. The program helps to unlock  creativity and promote individual social responsibility. Curriculum topics include Leadership, Self Concept, Conflict Management, Social Responsibility and Cooperation. It usually consist, of a final performance, share-out or service learning project.

  • PARENT WORKSHOPS -BILINGUAL (English/Spanish) 
Parents will walk away with new positive tools in dealing with their child’s challenging behavior/actions. 
  • STAFF DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS (BILINGUAL SPANISH/ENGLISH) Staff will learn to communicate more effectively with students, parents and colleagues. 
  • REAL DRAMA/REAL KIDS (Students from Concourse-House Jacob's Place)

Real Drama uses role play, theater games and facilitated discussions to help children ages 3 to 4 year old. It provides a fun, learning environment that teaches basic skills, promotes activity and increases confidence and social skills through drama. Real Drama also enhances self esteem, encourages cooperation and interaction with others ultimately improving communication and listening skills. Real Drama Workshops take children on fun in school field trips to fascinating destinations where children use their imagination to act and explore. Imagination takes center stage in our Real Drama classes.  New drama activities and scenes in each class allow children to gain confidence while having loads of fun!
